Suspension Assistant

Getting your suspension dialled in is one of the hardest parts of mountain biking. Too much air pressure, wrong sag, rebound too fast — and the fun disappears. The Suspension Assistant takes the guesswork out: enter your setup, and the AI delivers specific values — tailored to your exact components.

Inputs

The assistant takes the following parameters into account:

  • Bike — selected from your bike list; weight and travel are filled in automatically
  • Rider weight — pre-filled from your profile, but can be adjusted
  • Bike weight — loaded from the selected bike
  • Fork model — brand and model (e.g. “Fox 36 Factory”); pre-filled from your saved components
  • Fork travel — in mm; taken from the bike
  • Fork type — air or coil
  • Shock model — brand and model (e.g. “Fox Float X2”); pre-filled from your saved components
  • Shock travel — in mm (optional)
  • Shock type — air or coil
  • Riding style — Trail, Enduro, Downhill, XC, or Freeride
  • Skill level — Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, or Pro
  • Terrain — Trail, Enduro, Downhill, or XC
  • Known issues — e.g. “fork feels harsh” or “shock bottoms out” (free text field)

Result

After the calculation the assistant shows separate recommendations for fork and shock. Each recommendation contains the specific values — for example:

  • Air pressure (bar / PSI)
  • Sag (mm or %)
  • Rebound (clicks from fully closed)
  • Compression (low-speed and/or high-speed, where available)
  • Tokens (for coil springs)

The AI knows the adjustment options of common models and only outputs values for what is physically present on your component. For rare or unknown components it looks up the specifications on the web before calculating.

Saving a setup

You can save the fork and shock recommendations separately as a suspension set on your bike — each with a custom name. Saved sets appear in the Suspension section on your bike’s detail page and are always available for quick reference — useful when you run different setups for different trails.

Where to find it

You can access the Suspension Assistant via:

  • Navigation → Assistants → Suspension Assistant
  • Bike detail page → Suspension → Suspension Assistant
