bike-ly becomes RyTracks — and there’s a lot that’s new
What has been in the making for a long time now has a name that fits better: RyTracks. The app you know as bike-ly has been completely reworked, repositioned and is available from today at app.rytracks.de.
No reset, no blank slate — all your data, all your bikes, everything is right where you left it.
Why the new name?
bike-ly was a working title. RyTracks describes what this is really about: your rides, your trails, your tracks — all in one place. Not an activity tracker competing with Strava, but a digital logbook for people who take their bike seriously.
What’s new
Larger overview cards
The cards on the overview pages — Bikes, Snapshots, Rides and Trails — are now significantly larger on desktop. Less scrolling, more at a glance.
Ride invitations by email
When someone is invited to a ride, they now receive a properly designed email with all the details: name, date, location — and a button to accept or decline. Straightforward, no detours.
Better performance under load
The rate limiting in the background has been reworked. Logged-in users now have significantly more headroom — 500 requests per minute instead of the previous 100. Frustrating load errors when navigating quickly are now a thing of the past.
New app icon and PWA manifest
RyTracks has a fresh icon — and the Progressive Web App can now be installed on the home screen even more reliably across all devices.
Same experience, new home
The old address app.bike-ly.de automatically redirects to app.rytracks.de — you don’t need to change anything. Bookmarks, saved links, everything continues to work.
If you have RyTracks installed as a PWA, reinstalling it once will bring up the new icon and name.
What’s coming next
We’re already working on features that will set RyTracks even further apart from pure activity trackers:
- Service log & maintenance reminders — what was done when, when is the next service due
- Setup history — which components were fitted at which point in time
- QR code on the bike — workshop or ride buddy scans it and instantly sees all the specs
